Gene Kaplan is a composer ,performer, and music educator with a Masters Degree in Music from New York University. He studied composition for the musical theatre with the prominent Broadway conductor and composer Lehman Engel. Gene's works have been widely performed both on stage and radio. He is active as a woodwind performer and arranger-composer in the New York area, and was on the faculties of Molloy College and the Rockville Centre Schools, New York. Mr.Kaplan continues to be in great demand as a Finale music software instructor as well as a New York State music adjudicator. As a composer, his original compositions span a wide range of musical styles from jazz big band to symphony orchestra and at various levels of difficulty. His compositions have been performed on radio, in night clubs, and concert halls in the New York area. Many of his concert band pieces are widely published and well accepted by the educational community. His jazz duet book entitled SAX FOR TWO (Hal Leonard) is now in its 2nd printing and sold exclusively by Gene Kaplan Music . It has been well received both in the United States and Europe. Gene's unique talents as an educator, performer on all the single and double reed instruments and composer make him sought after in both the educational and commercial music scene.
